A "Connected Products Platform" for digital deposit on clothing.

Circulaid ('Circularity & Aid') is Candour.Digital's Connected Products Platform. This might sound complicated, but in essence it helps us (consumers, retailers & clothing brands) to make the fashion industry circular.

With circular, we're specifically referring to the ability of making the lifecycle of individual garments circular. It enables us to support this entire lifecycle, from point-of-sale until end-of-life (where individual items are recycled into new resources).

How it works

As the term Connected Products Platform might suggest, Circulaid is a platform that digitalises physical products by connecting them to a digital platform. To do so, it uses digital product passports that are linked to unique QR labels that are sewn into individual garments. When a garment is connected, this means that it is connected to a digital copy on the platform, also known as its digital twin.

Every digital twin comes with a digital product passport that contains important product information. This information helps to provide insights to end consumers upon purchasing an item, such that it becomes transparent where (and by whom) a product was made and what footprint it cause to produce it.

Next, these passports enable us to monitor the status of individual items. For example, when a product is sold, the status 'sold' tells us that the product is in use. In this example, we know that a product is in the middle of its lifecycle and that complementary services such as repair or resale might help consumers to enjoy their products for as long as possible.

Most importantly, it helps to monitor where and when products are returned for recycling, closing the loop and offering (digital) proof that the system prevented the product from becoming waste.

Where there are other connected products platforms on the market that make ambitious promises, we rather keep it simple. Our platform is therefore specifically designed to enable digital deposit in an accessible way as the foundation for circularity.
